The Problem

  • Customer issues needed a centralized workflow where clients could submit complaints and support teams could track, respond to, assign, and resolve them without relying on disconnected communication channels.
  • Different users needed different levels of access, while clients still needed visibility into complaint status, support conversations, attachments, and resolution progress.
  • Support teams also needed searchable complaint records, operational dashboards, reporting, and exports without exposing one client's data to another.

The Solution

  • Built a Laravel 12 portal with separate client, support, and administrator workflows, including role-aware authorization and client-scoped complaint access.
  • Implemented the complete complaint lifecycle with ticket creation, status tracking, engineer assignment, attachments, threaded conversations, internal staff notes, customer verification, ratings, and ticket closure.
  • Added operational dashboards with monthly status analytics, searchable complaint records, filtering, pagination, ApexCharts visualizations, and PDF/Excel reporting.
  • Created a database abstraction layer so the application can operate across MySQL and Oracle while keeping complaint, client, engineer, and reporting workflows consistent.

The Customer Support Portal was designed around the complete lifecycle of a support request rather than a simple CRUD interface. Clients can create and track complaints, communicate with support, upload supporting files, and close completed tickets with a rating. Support users work across client accounts, record customer-facing responses and internal notes, assign engineers, and move tickets through pending, on-hold, verification, completed, and cancelled states.

The application also provides role-specific dashboards, monthly complaint analytics, search and filtering, PDF and Excel exports, email notifications, and reusable Blade UI components. A database compatibility layer handles differences between MySQL and Oracle, allowing the same application logic to work in different deployment environments.
